Ann Widdecombe: Dancing Queen

Some are good.
Some are bad.
Some are really rad.

Some could not even fox trot, even if they had a
red furry coat, and a bushy tail.
You know the ones who are going to miserably fail.

But along came Ann Widdecombe to the scene,
that controversial, outrageous, Strictly Come Dancing Queen.

We watched each performance with laughter and tears,
and not even the critics could stop our spontaneous cheers,
as Anton Du Beke threw her around the room,
which made Craig Revel Horwood internally fume!

She took a lot of criticism, and Anton would just grin.
Is it possible; really possible that they might win?
As painful as haemorrhiods one said, and like a lame canary,
but she was determined to get the prize, and try everything that was necessary:

From flying in the air, or buffing the floor,
the general public definitely wanted more.
Just thinking about her made people smile.
Pick up the phone, vote, go on dial!

Should she stay in the competition the critics cried? Is it fair?
You try telling her that. In fact you dare!
"You bet it is", said Ann, as she prepared for the next dance.
"It's up to the voters, and not to chance!"

But we did fear for Anton that he might break a wrist,
as he hurled Ann around the dance floor,
or slip a precious spinal disc.

But alas the competition is over for her, and now she is a lady of leisure.
Who would have thought this Tory MP would become a national treasure!

The Rev STIG

The new minister of Pip'n'Jay is going to be revealed next week. For various good reasons the identity of our minister has been kept secret over many weeks now; however, I could not resist scribbling down this cartoon.

Frankinstein's Monster

"The trouble is, if I drink too much I turn into a monster!"

There is nothing like an old horror movie monster, and Frankenstein's monster is one of the best, especially when played by Boris Karloff. I really wanted to do a cartoon based on his version of the monster, so I came up with this.

A very naughty shark

I have not done a t-shirt design for a while, so I up-loaded this one yesterday on cartoonsharks3. The design was done a while ago, I just had to draw it up on Illustrator. I really thought this would be perfect as a t-shirt design, as this shark has a lot of attitude!:)

Clueless Vicar

I had this idea knocking around for a long time, so thought it was about time to put flesh to the bone! I love the idea of this naive vicar, who is just about to get unceremoniously hauled off by the Bishop. I remember seeing comedies where stage acts would get pulled off stage if they were awful. The Bishop's crook lends itself very well to this gag! I will hopefully have this cartoon available for purchase soon.  If you would like to purchase this cartoon for print, web/e publications, newsletters, presentations, or have it printed on t-shirts, mugs, framed prints, etc, press on this LINK

Space the final frontier?

If you ever tried to imagine the infinity of space, you will know it is enough to "do your head in"! Here is my take on the subject.  If you would like to purchase this cartoon for print, web/e publications, newsletters, presentations, or have it printed on t-shirts, mugs, framed prints, etc, press on this LINK

Shrewsbury International Cartoon Festival 2010

I went to the Shrewsbury International Cartoon Festival on the 24/04/2010. Took my portfolio and Noel Ford (No Less!) looked at my work. I was so encouraged that he liked my work and was so positive. It is well worth a visit if you ever get a chance. The cartoonists paint on large boards in the centre of the town, and there are various workshops and galleries dotted around.

Superhero

When I was a kid, I can still remember the excitement I used to feel when I got a new comic. I loved them all, The Hulk, Spiderman, Batman, Superman, and Dare Devil. The list can go on and on. I still got all of them, dating back to the 60's and 70's. I never got to be a superhero cartoonist, but here is my homage to such a great art form! Cheerleading Boss

Whenever a boss tries to inspire his or her employees, I find they tend to have the opposite reaction they were looking for. This particular boss obviously goes to inappropriate lengths to encourage his team! Despite the fact they are all outwardly horrified, he is totally oblivious. If you would like to purchase this cartoon for print, web/e publications, newsletters, presentations, or have it printed on t-shirts, mugs, framed prints, etc, press on this LINK

Alien Bachelor Party

I was inspired by two films when creating this cartoon: 'How to Murder your wife', where the lovely Virna Lisi appears out of a cake at a very drunken bachelor party. It also stars the fantastic Jack Lemmon and Terry Thomas. The other film of course is 'Alien', or 'Aliens'. This is what happens when my mind combines the two! If you would like to purchase this cartoon for print, web/e publications, newsletters, presentations, or have it printed on t-shirts, mugs, framed prints, etc, press on this LINK-

Cat Fight Cartoon

I went into a little more detail with this one. Maybe it was unnecessary, but I think it enhances the illustration. Being a fan of Top Cat, Tom and Jerry and Sylvester, it was fun to do my own cat cartoon characters. "Apart from Charlie here, I don't have any problems with slugs"

"Typical, next door gets an image of Jesus on their toast, and we get Richard Branson!"

"Seriously Vicar, I do not think you saw this guy in the morning service!"
